I first got into green smoothies when I was trying to heal my body, balance my hormones and clear my terrible cystic acne.
At the time I was bloated, had extremely brittle hair and awful digestion. (Ill spare you the details 😂)
Although I love eating other things for breakfast, green smoothies have stayed a part of my diet over the past few years and I really notice the effect when Im drinking them on a more regular basis.

Replacing your breakfast with a nutritious green smoothie a few days a week can do wonders for your waist and your health.
But it will only work in conjunction with a healthy diet that’s high in micronutrients and a healthy lifestyle
Drinking a green smoothie for breakfast and eating a burger for lunch won’t give you the results your after 😉

Absolutely but it’s important to have the right type of green smoothies
Although green smoothies are healthy, many green smoothies, especially those found at cafes, can be very high in fat (milk/yoghurt based) which is very acid forming, difficult to digest and very fattening.
They often contain too much fruit and fruit juice too. This make s them more palatable but defeats the point of getting a smoothie rich in greens.
Can smoothies help lose belly fat?
Drinking green smoothies high in veggies and lower in fruits are a great way to lose belly fat and de-bloat.
Smoothies in general are great for belly fat and weight loss as the blender(LINK) pre-grinds the fruit and veggies down before you have it. This means that your digestive system is working LESS to process and digest.
Digesting food takes A LOT of energy.
With less time digesting, the body can get on to fat burning and doing a whole lot of other things
What smoothies are best for weight loss?
Smoothies that contain lots of vegetables, particularly green leafy’s are the best for weight loss
They add tons of fiber which makes you feel fuller without the calories.
Smoothies that are very high in fruit, particularly fruit juice can destabilize blood sugar levels making you feel hungry more quickly and can lead to increased belly fat.
To get the full benefits of a green smoothie, make sure you add some type of plant fat. This can be avocado, seeds or nuts.
Not only will it taste better but it will be more filling and the fat will help the nutrients get absorbed better.
